MEC Sello Lehari bids goodbye to Lt Gen Motsweyane



Community Safety and Transport Management MEC Sello Lehari today (December 20, 2019) at Madiba Banquet Hall in Potchefstroom bids farewell to Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen Baile Motsweyane. The MEC alongside Premier Professor Job Mokgoro paid tribute to her stewardship which saw crime reduction by about five percent.

She is being transferred to Free State having arrived in North West in 2016. She leaves at the end of the month. She will be succeeded by Lt Gen Sello Kwena.

In the message of support MEC Lehari said he had hoped to work for longer with Lt General Motsweyane.

“I never thought I would say goodbye to you so soon”, says MEC Lehari who work closely with Lt Gen Motsweyane after the May elections when he became the MEC for the department of Community Safety and Transport Management.

“I’m both happy and sad. Happy to have worked with you and sad to see you go. We became close in a short space of time and you made me feel welcome”.

MEC Lehari also wished well Divisional Commissioner of Crime Detection Major General Jan Mabula who retires after 36 years of selfless service to South African Police Service.
